2012 Toyota Tacoma Baja Package Coming Soon
At the 2011 Texas State Fair, Tacoma fans drooled over the pre-production concept car: 2012 Toyota Tacoma TRD T/X Baja Series. This special edition Tacoma will be available in late spring 2012.

The 2012 Toyota Tacoma TRD T/X Baja Series will be here soon.
This series is named after Mexico’s Baja California Peninsula in honor of the Baja 500 and 1000 desert off-road races — the same races in which Toyota has proven their mettle.
Performance enthusiasts are thrilled with the influence of the Toyota Racing Department. At this time, the Tacoma TRD T/X Baja Series is going through final testing. It will be available on Tacoma Access and Double Cab 4×4 models with the TRD Off-Road Package. Whether PreRunner models will be included remains to be seen.
The Tacoma T/X Baja Series is powered by a 4.0-liter V-6 engine with a choice of six-speed manual or five-speed automatic transmission.
Standard features from the TRD Off-Road package include:
- Electronically-controlled locking rear differential
- Active Traction Control
- Hill-Start Assist Control
- Downhill Assist Control
The T/X Baja Series adds:
- BF Goodrich T/A KO tires (LT265/70R16)
- Bead-lock style off-road wheels
- TRD Cat-back Exhaust
- Higher ride height by two inches
- Baja Series graphics
Upgraded suspensions permit one additional inch of wheel travel:
- Front: Bilstein race shocks plus TRD coil springs with a zinc plated body
- Rear: Bilstein race shocks with remote reservoir for greater shock oil capacity plus zinc plated body; this allows for more heat dissipation and damping sensitivity.
The T/X Baja Series, along with all 2012 Tacomas, will receive a restyled front end, redesigned instrument panel and redesigned center stack.
