What You’re Missing – 2012 Ford Ranger
Ford is getting to release a 2012 Ford Ranger which will only be available in Europe, Asia, Africa and South America. What are you missing?

The Ford Ranger, recently killed off in North America, is making a debut overseas.
The Ranger won’t be available in North America because the Ford executives feel it would hurt sales of the already popular F-150.
On the outside, the Ranger has incorporated the SUV nose design and full metal wheel arches. This gives the Ranger a much more streamlined appearance and with an integrated rear spoiler on the tailgate, a .39 coefficient of drag, the best in its class. Large side mirrors increase its sense of safety.
The interior is designed for comfort and luxury. A six-speaker entertainment system with a CD player and large buttons on the center panel make a strong impression. The armrests are heavily padded and recessed into the doors. The glove box is big enough to hold a 16-inch laptop and an average lady’s handbag.
At 18 feet by 6 feet, this is a larger truck than Ford previously released. Still, it handles well in traffic and parks relatively easily into tight spots. This is largely due to a very responsive steering system that requires only three and a half turns of the wheel to get from right lock to left. It can easily wade through 30 inches of water with a full load and has 9.3 inches of ground clearance, making it an excellent off-road vehicle as well.

Sometimes, the things that Ford does… Does not make any sense to me. O.o We need a Tacoma competitor. And look… No Ranger in the US. For now at least! 😉
Danny,
I agree that a Tacoma competitor would be good since competition often drives innovation. I’ll be interested in seeing how the new Colorado does especially in the target markets that GM has identified (whoops, spoiler alert!). Look for a really interesting article on Wednesday. 🙂
